Course Details

San Jose, 3-time cycling haven host of the Amgen Tour of California, will provide the perfect backdrop for what is bound to be an astounding inaugural event for the LIVESTRONG Challenge San Jose. The course provides a counter-clockwise loop departing from downtown San Jose, heading southwest towards Campbell, Saratoga, Los Gatos and Morgan Hill. The 100-mile ride moves across the valley and up the famed Metcalf Road climb before finishing back in downtown San Jose.

All course distances for the San Jose Challenge entail moderate to difficult terrain with some steep, long climbs and densely populated areas with high traffic.

CUT-OFF Times

Participants in the 100-mile ride who do not reach the 65/100 mile course split at mile 30.3 (at McKean Rd and Bailey Rd) by 11:00 a.m. will be re-routed to the 65-mile course.

The 8.5-hour rule will be enforced. Riders who have not crossed the finish line by 4:00 p.m., 8.5 hours from the start time, will be picked up by SAG vehicles and dropped off near the course end to ride across the finish line.

Please note that the LIVESTRONG Challenge staff, in conjunction with local law enforcement agencies, may alter the routes to ensure the safety of all participants. These reasons may include extreme weather conditions and other situations beyond our control. We thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
