Portlanders are always up for a challenge. They laugh in the face of rain, relish a steep climb, and delight in spending an extra hour on the trail or in one of the area's many parks. Now it's time for this City of Roses to show its thorns and pick a fight with cancer.

On June 29, the people of Portland and its surrounding communities will descend on Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon, to take the LIVESTRONG Challenge, the Lance Armstrong Foundation's signature fundraising event. For the fourth year in a row, our Portland 5K Run/Walk and 10, 40, 70 and 100-mile rides will raise money and awareness to inspire and empower the nearly 12 million Americans living with cancer.
